CALL FOR TUTORIAL AND WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
12th IEEE International Requirements Engineering Conference (RE'04)
6th-10th September 2004, Kyoto, Japan
http://www.re04.org
"Requirements for Innovation in a Changing World"
Submission deadline for workshop and tutorial proposals: 14th February 2004
The RE'04 conference is seeking tutorial and workshop proposals. Its location in Kyoto in Japan provides exciting new opportunities for international workshops and tutorials to reach new audiences. Deadline for submissions is the 14th February 2004.
TUTORIAL PROPOSAL SUBMISSIONS We welcome proposals for full-day (6-hour) and half-day (3-hour) tutorials in all aspects of requirements engineering practice and research. Tutorials are effective mechanisms for technology transfer, and we encourage proposals for tutorials targeted to practitioners seeking to improve their requirements process. Proposals for tutorials given in Japanese language are especially welcome. Tutorial proposals will be evaluated on the basis of anticipated interest and benefit to RE'04 participants.
Tutorial proposals should be written in English and must include the topic (title), abstract, intended audience, instructor name(s), brief bio-sketch(es) and proposed length (half day or full day). Please indicate whether the proposed tutorial has been given previously, and if so, where, when, and the approximate audience size and background of participants. If given previously, please include a sample of the tutorial material with the proposal. Proposals of 2-3 pages should be submitted electronically in Word or PDF format to RE '04 Tutorials co-Chairs: Didar Zowghi (didar@it.uts.edu.au) and Kenji Takahashi (takahashi.kenji@lab.ntt.co.jp). For more information see www.re04.org.
WORKSHOP PROPOSAL SUBMISSIONS We also welcome proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with RE'04 to encourage interaction between researchers and practitioners. Workshop topics should align with the conference topics but could be extended to related software engineering topics of special interest for Japan. We could accept Japanese language proposals to stimulate local participation. We are particularly interested in workshop proposals that cover topics that may have controversial viewpoints or are new to the requirements engineering field, where focused dialogue among participants may lead to interesting follow-on research, empirical investigations or industrial practice improvement. Workshop proposals should be written in English and must include the workshop objective, target audiences, workshop paper format and evaluation procedures, workshop format, duration (3 hours or 6 hours) and brief bio-sketch(es). Please indicate whether the proposed workshop has been held previously, and if so, where, when, and the approximate audience size and the general feedback from participants. Proposals of 2-3 pages should be subjected in PDF format to RE'04 Workshop co-Chairs: Sanya Uehara (s.uehara@jp.fujitsu.com) and Colette Rolland (rolland@univ-paris1.fr). For more information see www.re04.org.
