Dear list members,
Strictly for amusement:
I was discussing this topic with a colleague this morning, and made the
point that "waterfall" is an incorrect term, really, because it implies an
uninterrupted flow (of water) from top to bottom. A better term might be
"cascade", since a cascade hits obstacles (projecting rocks) on the way
down. "Sort of a rapids," my colleague remarked, whereupon a new paradigm
for software development was born: "Rapids Application Development".
(And a thought relevant to a parallel discussion on salesmen's promises:
"Vapid Application Development").
Regards,
