Grounding sensory and symbolic information in agents involves linking the internal representation of the world to real world objects. Grounding is an issue in all systems from insects to apes and beyond! Grounding is particularly challenging when designing complex artificial systems like software agents and mobile robots interacting with dynamic environments.
The purpose of the workshop is to bring together researchers who are interested in addressing fundamental research challenges related to the development of theoretically sound models and methods that can be used to build robust practical solutions to the grounding problem.
The Invited Speakers for the Workshop Grounding Sensory Information and Symbolic Knowledge include David Makinson of Kings College London and Bernhard Nebel of Freiburg University, Germany.
